Broccoli Calories
December 9, 2008
Not everyone likes broccoli, but if you do, you wouldn’t mind knowing about the broccoli calories, would you?
Broccoli can be eaten raw, steamed, stir fried or microwaved and the broccoli calories and other nutrition values might change a bit. So let’s check out the detailed broccoli calories:
Raw Broccoli Calories
(this refers to edible parts only)
- 100gr (3.5oz) of broccoli: 34 broccoli calories
- 1 cup chopped broccoli (91gr): 31 broccoli calories
Boiled Broccoli Calories
(and drained)
- 100gr (3.5oz) of broccoli: 35 broccoli calories
- 1 cup chopped broccoli (156gr): 55 broccoli calories
As you can see the number of boiled broccoli calories in 1 cup is higher than 1 cup of raw broccoli calories. That’s because of the high percentage of water in raw broccoli and because the water doesn’t add anything to the broccoli calories.
